Leta Mae Chapman

Leta Mae Chapman was born on July 15, 1924 in Glenwood, Iowa to Joseph Sitzman and Minnie Sitzman. She passed from this life on Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Quail Ridge West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma having reached the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 4 days. She married Tony Maletich in 1944 in Arizona, and Earl Chapman in 1953 in Long Beach, California. She moved to Stillwell Oklahoma from Pawnee in 1996. She was affiliated with the First Christian Church. She worked in Civil Service at Long Beach Air Force Base, Long Beach California, and also worked in the Banking Industry for 50 plus years, working at the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Long Beach and Pawnee National Bank. Leta Mae is survived by: Sister: Hope Sorenson, Desert Hot Springs, California Daughters: Antoinette Maletich Sorensen and her husband, Mark, Cypress, California Donna Maletich Shamas and her husband, Barry, Dripping Springs, Texas Vickie L. Chapman, Stilwell, Oklahoma

Granddaughters: Jennifer Shamas and Shaila Lynn Starnes, Austin, Texas

Great Granddaughter: Zoe Rose Starnes-Kemper, Austin, Texas

Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Lloyd Chapman and his wife, Rita, Yale, Oklahoma Wanda Chapman and her husband, Yale, Oklahoma Alice Chapman-Woods, Stillwater, Oklahoma Mildred Chapman SunEagle, Pawnee, Oklahoma Charles Wayne Chapman, Pawnee, Oklahoma Linda Chapman-Jestes and her husband, Ronnie, Pawnee, Oklahoma

Plus numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Prayer Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2013 and Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2013, both at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Rev. Lynn “Butch” Eaves officiating.
