Dorothy (Hadley) Ryan

Dorothy Pauline Ryan (Hadley) was born March 8, 1933 in Wann, Oklahoma, to Uriah Maris Hadley and Melvina Anna Hadley (Kelly). She passed peacefully from this Earth and reunited with our Lord on October 2, 2017.
Dorothy married the love of her life, Earl Leroy Ryan, on May 11, 1950, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The family moved to Pawnee in 1968, where Earl was employed by Stewart Stone at the local rock quarry, a job he held until his retirement. Her love of children led Dorothy to start a daycare center where she nurtured and educated children for nearly 30 years, touching more young people than she could remember. She demonstrated her love to her daycare kids so well that many of them called her Grandma. Dorothy’s legacy lives on in the children that passed through her daycare.
Dorothy had a giving heart. Raised to respect and meet the needs of others, her door was always open to those in need. Her household often included members of her church or extended family. Some stayed for a day, others stayed much longer. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, flower gardening, genealogy and feeding her birds. But most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always considered her children and grandchildren to be her greatest accomplishments.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Uriah and Melvina Hadley, her sons Tommy and Daniel, her grandsons Daniel and Dewayne, her twin brother Donald Paul Hadley, two other brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Earl Ryan of Stillwater, her children Earl Jr. and Cheryl Ryan, Jerry and Peggy Ryan of Pawnee, and Johnny and Glenda McClure of Stillwater, her brother Louis and his wife Lilly of White Oak, Oklahoma, her sister Emma and her husband Virgil Stevens of Dewey, Oklahoma. Dorothy is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
