Gwendolyn (Gwendy) Anne Williams (Hi Sei Hihi) Our beloved Gwendy was born May 26, 1953 in Pawnee, Oklahoma she was 67 years old. Gwendy's father was George Washington Williams and her mother was Wilma Delores (Moore) Williams. Gwendy resided in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and comes from the Bravescout Family. She attended Pawnee Schools and Chilocco Indian School. Her tribal affiliation were 1/4 Pawnee, 1/4 Otoe, 1/2 Arapaho, she was an enrolled Pawnee Tribal Member. She was a supporter for Indigenous rights such as the American Indian Movement; In her younger years she was a fancy shawl dancer, she was a Beader, she was a chorus girl singer for YellowHammer, and Bravescout singers. Often she was called upon as she was a frybread maker for family and tribal events. Gwendy was a member of the Bravescout Native American Chapter. Her travels took her throughout the United States where she made many friends and Relatives. Her younger years she participated in the Bravescout dance troupe and went to Ocean City, Maryland to perform shows; With her love of singing Gwendy and sister/ Dorothy sang and traveled with yellow hammer during the time this group first united. Gwendy was preceded in death by her father George Williams Sr., mother Wilma Williams, and two brothers, George Willaims and Terry Williams. Gwendy is survived by Georgene Nell Williams of the home, Rosalie Williams of the home, and Wesley Roy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren, Ezekial Acosta, Odessa Snell, Stormy Rose Roy, Ariel Roy, Jordan Roy, Dayton Roy, Ciaomi Roy, and Daytin Mister Roy. She also has nephews George Williams III, and Terry Williams, niece Robin Williams. Gwendy is also survived by brother Norman Newrider, and Irvin Brown. Gwendy is also survived by the Bravescout family consisting of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many grandchildren. Our beloved Gwendolyn Anne Williams, departed and left her loved ones on November 28, 2020 at 6:06 A.M. She will be at rest now, to enjoy truly loved and departed family on the other side. Graveside services were held Tuesday 1:00 P.M. in the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery with Patrick Moore officiating from the Otoe Native American Chapter. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
