Minnie Vada (Osborne) Fields

Minnie Vada Little Eagle Osborne Fields, 84 years of age entered into the gates of heaven March 26, 2018 in her home while surrounded by family.


She was born October 18, 1934 to Sam and Effie Osborne of Pawnee, Ok.

She is a descendant of LittleEagle and Mattie LittleEagle, who as a child walked from Nebraska to Oklahoma.
She is a descendant of Pawnee Scout Billy Osborne.
Minnie's siblings include Ramona Osborne of McLean, VA and Mattie Fish of Sand Springs, Ok. Minnie was preceded in death by Roland Osborne, Gerald Osborne and Pearl Nuttle.


Minnie was married to Arthur Ralph Fields, Jr. March 24, 1957. He preceded her in death Oct 6, 1978. Their children are Arthur (Nina) R. Fields III, Lyle E. Fields, Lisa (Mike) G. Pahsetopah, Michael (Brandi) S. Fields, Ramona (Ellis deceased) D. Horsechief and Charles (Tammy) B. Fields.

Minnie & Arthur’s children preceding her in death were Arthur R. Fields, Jr. 1959 and Roland H. Fields 1975.


Minnie’s grandchildren include Alicia Fields Primeaux, Arthur Sonny Boy Fields, Alana Fields Norman, Mariah Whiteshirt Fields, Chance Fields, Heaven Pahsetopah, Jesse Fields, Michael Fields, Jr., Nicholas Fields, Sierra Fields, Abbey Fields, Vada Horsechief, Caleb Horsechief, Stephanie Fields, & Chloe Fields. She had 16 great grandchildren.


Minnie was a member of the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church while continuing to have a heart for the Indian Southern Baptist Church in Wichita, Ks.

Minnie was employed by the Pawnee Nation CHR Program for many years before retirement.

She enjoyed aiding the elderly and following retirement she participated daily in the Nations meals, trips, fundraisers, etc. Minnie currently holds the title Pawnee Nation Elders Princess.

She was a proud military wife of a US Air Force Korean Veteran. She supported Pawnee Indians Veterans organizations along with other tribal veterans organizations.

Minnie enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, walking and baseball. Her favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees. Minnie loved watching her grandchildren in their various sports. Minnie liked to travel while attending native american events.

Services are Thursday 10:00 A.M. March 29, 2018 in the Pawnee nation Roam Chief Event Center with Warren Pratt Jr. officiating, burial will follow in the North Indian Cemetery. Friends can leave a memory for the family at poteetfuneralhome.com
