Clifford Melbourne Bruns

Clifford Melbourne Bruns, 83, son of Pawnee County pioneer family, passed away on January 11, 2016 at the family homestead claimed by his father in the '89 Cherokee Land Run. Born on Nov. 4th, 1932, to Frederick Bruns (Hanover, Germany area immigrant) and Martha Walenciak Bruns, Clifford is survived by the love of his life, Jerri, wife of nearly 64 years as well as three children, eleven grandchildren, and eight (and counting) great grandchildren. A 1950 graduate of Pawnee High School, Clifford and Jerri Wegner married in February, 1952 and made their home on the family farm where he engaged in farming/ ranching and area businesses. He was an encourager of a strong work ethic, honesty, and loyalty to friends and loved ones, and was considered a special treasure to so many in the community. Clifford was the youngest of his seven siblings, all deceased: Lula Bruns Greer, Mable Bruns, Hazel Bruns, Elizabeth Bruns Beynon, Helen Bruns Jones, Ruby Bruns Griesel, and Elton Bruns. Family members include son Vic Bruns/wife Jeanne, and daughters Cathy Bruns Render/ husband Michael and Molly Bruns Jordan; and grandchildren: Amy Render Oettle, Chelsea Render, Leah Render Swaim, Barry Bruns, Aaron Bruns, Jeremy Bruns, Casey Bruns, Adam Bruns, Tiffani Jordan Cooper, Chad Jordan, and Tara Jordan.Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church of Pawnee with internment following at Pawnee Highland Cemetery. The family knows Clifford has been received with open arms in Heaven.
