Jerry Wallace Day

Jerry Wallace Day, 63, of Pawnee, OK, passed away on February 19, 2021 in Tulsa, OK. Jerry was born February 12, 1958 in Pawnee, OK to Virgil Charles and Nova Esther Day. Jerry was the youngest of five children. He attended Pawnee High School where he was a multi-sport athlete with his main love being basketball. After high school, he decided to attend OSU Okmulgee and became an Electrical Journeyman. He loved being outdoors, working with his mules and horses, and THE Oklahoma State University Cowboys. He will be remembered for his general stubbornness, teasing jokes, wildly entertaining stories, and of course his need to wear a hearing aid and never doing so. He spent much of his fatherhood, between 15-20 years, coaching little league baseball. Can you even imagine that? He made an impact on many lives and one would assume a lot of those young baseball players would have some stories to tell. He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Esther Day, his sister Hazel Marie Cooney, Billie Ruth Eustler, and Carol Ann Day, and his granddaughter Adley Grace Day. He is survived by his brother Robert Virgil Day, sister Opal Delores Boyles and his five strong willed and independent children, Keith Aaron Day, Mellissa Kay Williams, Matthew Wayne Day, Jeremy Wyatt Day, and Chelsie Lynn Kennedy. He had ten grandchildren that he adored and would move the mountains for: Brian Keith Day, Whitney Marie Williams, Kristian “Krissy” Marie Williams, Jada Elise Williams, Brittney Grace Williams, Tassi Jo Fadely, Tucker Matthew Day, Spin “Chooch” Edward Kennedy III, Kadence Alma Francine Kennedy, and Knox Allen Kennedy.

The funeral services will be held at Pawnee Assembly of God Church on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at the Maramec Cemetery. A viewing for the public will be held Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 at Poteet Funeral Home between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
