Julia Grace Kihega

Julia Grace Kihega was born on October 31, 1963 to her late mother Imogene Columbus Kihega and father Ronald Dean Kihega. She graduated from Red Rock High School in 1981. Julia attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS as an accounting major. Later she moved to Greenville, TX where she was employed for a Bottling Company and resided there for several years. Julia moved home and she was employed by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe in various operation positions. She was great at helping her Otoe people and it showed with her compassionate customer service skills. Julia’s favorite part of the day was when she able to visit with her friends and family. She enjoyed traveling to the Pacific Northwest to visit her nieces’ Sarah and Denise and their families. Julia loved supporting her children and grandchildren’s sports activities, she was an enthusiastic spectator. Julia was blessed to be around her grandchildren and she was proud of all of them. She was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by her mother Imogene Kihega, brother George Kihega and sister Deborah Jake on November 6, 2021. She is survived by her father, Ronald Kihega, Ponca City, OK; sister Mary Mendia, Wellington, KS and her six beautiful children, Charity Layton, Perry, OK; Courtney Burgess, Red Rock, OK; Tiffany Burgess, Red Rock, OK; Joshua Black, Marland, OK; Lisa Porter, Stillwater, OK; and Sheldon Kihega, Red Rock, OK. She will be dearly missed by her wonderful grandchildren, Larissa Jefferson, Nathan Jefferson, Kaidence Jefferson, Aryanna Burgess, Jaxon Mistler, Jessiah Burgess, Jayden Black, Laraina SiJohn, Kyla SiJohn, Avrie Black, Jace Bassett-Black, Theumba Bassett-Black, Everett Bassett-Black, Alexis Romero, Ethan Jake, Thomas Skinandore, Nicolette Greensky, Cannon Cheever, Jaeda Cheever and Kinley Cheever.Funeral services will be held at the Otoe-Missouria Cultural Building in Red Rock, OK on November 9, 2021. A traditional noon meal will be provided with funeral services preceding laying Julia to rest at Otoe-Missouria Tribal Cemetery.
