Kenneth Roy Beagle

Kenneth Roy Beagle, lifetime Maramec resident, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 14, at Southern Oaks Care Center in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
He was born at the family homestead in Maramec, Oklahoma, on February 27, 1938, to Roy and Eda (Meyer) Beagle. He graduated from Maramec High School in 1956 then joined the National Guard 45th Division in 1961 and served several years training at Fort Polk, Fort Ord, Fort Hunter Liggett, and Fort Chaffee.
On June 9, 1962, he married Edna Lucille Carter, and they made their home in Maramec. Kenneth worked a variety of jobs through the years from driving a propane route to welding at National Tank and working on carpentry crews. Later years found him in the oilfield pumping wells for Charlie Dale, Benson Oil, and Cleveland Lease.
Kenneth always loved baseball and was quite a pitcher in his day, even being recruited to play on a college scholarship. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he especially liked his bird dogs and quail hunting. He always had cattle to feed and equipment to work on. Kenneth stayed busy on long summer days (and nights) baling hay for ranchers all over the Maramec area and then some. Kenneth is survived by his wife Edna, son Rick, wife Becky, and granddaughter Callie of Pawnee, and grandson Nathan of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Gail, and recently, his daughter Connie.
Funeral services will be held graveside at the Maramec IOOF Cemetery Monday April 19, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.
