Lawrence J. Johnson went to be with his lord, early Saturday morning with his loving family by his side. Lawrence was born May 13, 1936 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Marlin and Mildred B. (Howell) Johnson, he was raised in Pawnee and attended elementary school in Pawnee and then graduated from the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. Lawrence served his country in Both the Army and the Marines from 1959 to 1968. Lawrence married Janell Albright November 1985 in Independence, Kansas where they settled and raised their family. Lawrence worked as a long haul trucker for Standard Motors for many years, retiring with three million miles accident free.  Lawrence was an avid golf player and loved being on the golf course whenever he could, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of the home; Janell, one daughter; Tamisha Hastings, two grand children; Joshua Hastings and Mollie Hastings, one brother; Phil Johnson and one sister; Lare Alexander, and  numerous nieces and nephews.Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Larry Johnson, and sister; Dawn Marie Johnson. Services were held Tuesday 1:00 P.M. January 10, 2017 in the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center with Rev. Duane Pratt and Rev. Lynn Eaves officiating. Internment followed in the North Indian Cemetery Pawnee, Oklahoma. Friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
