Leland Gerard Siemens

Leland Gerard Siemens left this world on September 6, 2019 at the Elk City Hospital due to complications of his diabetes and other ailments. He was born on May 13, 1962 to Henrietta Rose Dent-Lane and Gene Dale Beaver, Jr. at the Pawnee Indian Hospital in Pawnee, OK. Leland was adopted by Kenneth and Joan Siemens when he was 3 weeks old, he was raised in a warm and loving home. Leland was an enrolled member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, Bear Clan and descendent of the Cheyenne Tribe, Dog Soldier Society.

Leland attended Concho Elementary School and graduated high school in Oklahoma City, OK. After high school he entered into the United States Army and served at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He discharged as a Private First Class after two years of service.

Leland enjoyed cooking and decided to go to culinary school in Tulsa. Afterwards he enjoyed cooking for various events, but mostly cooking for himself, friends and family. He enjoyed going to powwows, beadwork and leaning all he could about the Native American culture.

He is survived by his mothers, brothers David Lane of Red Rock, OK, Shawn & Bonnie Dent of Denton, TX and Bruce Rodgers of Erick, OK. He also has many nephews, nieces and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his fathers, and two brothers, Joseph Lane and Michael Lane; grandparents Abraham & Wilma Dailey-Dent and Dale Gene & Eva Beaver Sr. Other aunts and uncles as well.

Arrangements are under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee, OK. Services will take place at the Otoe-Missouria Culture Building on Sunday evening, September 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at noon on September 9, 2019 with Rev. James Kenner officiating, interment will be at the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery, Red Rock, OK. Pall Bearers are Russell Jim, Tim Jim, Robert Compton, Augustus Roubedeaux and Koury Habibi; Honorary Pall Bearers are David Lane, Shawn Dent, and Bruce Rodgers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association.
