Lois Josephine Dickenson

Lois was born March 15, 1928 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Elmer and Cora Hulsey. She passed away on October 2, 2018.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the mid-fifties. For the last four years, she has lived in Pawnee and was a member of the Choctaw Tribe. She was one of eight children with four brothers and three sisters. She and her husband, Ora Eugene (Dick) Dickenson from Drumright, were childhood sweethearts. They married March 15, 1947 in Drumright and were married almost 60 years. She was the mother of two sons, Donald Dean and Bruce Kevin Dickenson.
Lois and Dick lived in Oklahoma in the early years of their marriage before moving to Texas. Lois graduated from nursing school in Texas, receiving her LVN license. She was a wonderful nurse and retained her medical knowledge even after retirement.
After the death of her husband and both sons in Texas, Lois moved to Pawnee to be near her sister-in-law, Carol Dickenson Henckel.
Living in the Lubbock area for some time, the family became lovers of horses and became active members of Aufill's Rough Riders and rode on trail rides, rodeos, and play days. Their whole family participated in events at the Aufill Sports Arena. The couple and their children were golf enthusiasts, also. Lois also loved gardening, and reading. She also loved everyone she met. She truly loved talking about her God, Jehovah, her best friend for over 70 years. She was baptized and dedicated her life to Jehovah in the mid-fifties.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Dickenson Henckel, Pawnee; daughter-in-law, Becky Dickenson, Pawnee; four granddaughters, Robyn Dickenson, Pawnee; Sicily, Erin, and Kerry Dickenson, Texas; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, in addition to many, many very close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sons,  parents, and siblings.
