Lynn "Butch" D. Eaves

Reverend Lynn “Butch” D. Eaves, at the age of 72, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2020. Butch was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on December 4, 1947 to William Taft Eaves and Rachel CrowChief-Eaves. He attended Pawnee Public Schools, Graduating in 1967. After High school he enlisted into the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division. He was sent to Fort Benning, GA for basic training and upon completion he was deployed to Germany, for approximately 2 years, until he was honorably discharged. Upon his return home, he attended Haskell Junior College, in Lawrence, KS, from 1972-1974, where he was a member of the Haskell Men’s basketball team. Later he attended Fort Lewis College, and Southern Methodist University, where he found his calling to the ministry.
On February 17, 1983, he became father to his daughter, Celia (Eaves) Newlin.
In 2000, he became an ordained minister. He served several churches including, Dallas, Okmulgee, and Pawnee Indian Methodist Churches. He found his home at Pawnee First assembly of God, where he met the love of his life, Karen Eaves, later marrying her in 2006.
Butch was a devout follower of Christ. He was always encouraging others by sharing God’s word through testimony. He enjoyed fishing, eating at Click’s, running the annual Hawk Chief, cheering on the Sooners, and spending time with his family and wife, Karen.
Butch is preceded in death by his Parents William Taft and Rachel CrowChief-Eaves, 3 sisters; Rena Eaves-Williams, Addie Latimer, Beatrice Eaves-Suneagle and 4 brothers; Wilbur Eaves, Richard Eaves, William Eaves, and Jan Eaves.
Those left to honor his memory are wife Karen Eaves of Pawnee, OK; Daughter Celia (Eaves) Newlin of Ponca City, OK; Brother Charley Rulling Hissun of Pawnee, OK; Twin Brother, Glenn Eaves of Auburn, WA; Along with numerous family and friends.
