Manny Louis Miller

Manuel Louis Aguilar aka Manny Miller was born in the Pawnee Indian Hospital, Pawnee, Oklahoma on June 1st, 1948 to Louise Gonzales.  He attended school in Ralston, Oklahoma and the Pawnee Indian Boarding School as a young boy while living with his grandparents, Manuel and Irene Knife Chief Gonzales.  He loved fishing on the Arkansas River and in local ponds, he also loved picking pecans in their pecan grove.  As a young boy, he was known by Pawnee elders as "Buckskins Charlie" because of his blond hair. He later moved to Pawnee and attended school until joining the army and serving overseas during the Vietnam War as a supply clerk in Okinawa, Japan.  He married Janelle Harshbarger and had two sons Dax and Berkeley.  He later married Mary Appleseth and had one daughter Danielle.  He lived most of his later life living in Oklahoma City where he worked as a Backhoe Operator before taking an early retirement after being injured on the job.  He enjoyed collecting antiques and treasure hunting, he also enjoyed Horse racing and wagering on them.  He lived a simple life and loved his pets.  He passed away on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness.He is survived by two sons, Dax Aguilar of California, Berkeley Love of Cleveland, OK, one daughter, Danielle Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, three sisters Deloris Bowman of Bentonville, Arkansas, Darlene James of Broken Arrow, OK and Irene Fields of Jones, OK  and one brother Gerald W. Norris of Stillwater, OK,  Two Aunts Joan Rankins and Jean Mclendon of Pawnee, OK and many cousins, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed everyone that knew him.He was preceded in death by his mother Louise Gonzales Norris, grandparents Manuel and Irene Knife Chief Gonzales and his wife Mary.Services are Thursday 1:00 P.M. April 7, 2016 at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center with Rev Lynn Eaves officiating, internment will follow at the North Indian Cemetery.
