Blessings are upon those who come today to lay to eternal rest, Aunt Marie Faw Faw, who began her journey to her Father in heaven. Aunt Marie lived a long and fruitful life having borne 6 children, 3 of whom have gone on before her and she now joins them today. She is not sad, Aunt Marie rejoices. We come today to also celebrate her life. Marie, the daughter of Alice Pearl and Alfred Scott, was the baby of 7 children and was a loving daughter to her parents, and siblings who have preceded her in death. Raising 6 children requires a lot of love, being married 75 years is a lot of love given, and we cannot forget her endearing love of cats, her love of flowers. Aunt Marie was a woman of her time. She married during wartime WWII on an army base. She was a “Rosie Riveter” working at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City while her husband was fighting in the Ardennes, known as the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium.
Aunt Marie loved Glenn Miller and dancing. She was stylish for her time, she was beautiful and she held that beauty until her dying day.
In her husband, Louis’, words written on a Mother’s Day in May:
“You are a great mother and wife for down through the years you have given us Love, Understanding, Forgiveness, Loyalty, Trust, Leadership, Kindness, Sharing, and what accounts for all these….you are a Christian mother and wife.”
We are sorrowful that her daughter, Sharon Luttrell, and son, Steven Faw Faw, cannot join us today due to Covid illness. We join her daughter, Sandra Schwartz in bidding their mother, our Aunt Marie, farewell, and lay her to eternal rest. Sing a song of joy in your hearts for she goes to Paradise today.
