Neva Iola (Clark) Greer

Neva Iola (Clark) Greer went to be with her lord, September 12, 2015 at age 88. Neva was born September 28, 1926 in Maramec, Oklahoma to Leroy and Clara (Rist) Clark, she was raised and schooled in the Maramec, Skedee area. She met the love of her life, Curtis Greer, on the Pawnee court house lawn and a year and a half later on July 2, 1944 they would be married at his Family's home.  The happy couple moved to Skedee and Curtis started working for the railroad.  In 1948 they moved to California to work, but missed Oklahoma and moved back in 1959, buying a farm near Pawnee and Curtis started ruff necking in the oilfields.  Neva stayed home, to take care of the home and children.  While the children learned about the chores of the farm.  Later they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma and Neva took a job at Oklahoma State University and Curtis opened a shoe repair shop.  Neva later joined him to help run the business.  Curtis and Neva retired in 1995 deciding to enjoy their retirement. Neva was a wonderful wife and mother and grandmother, she loved to sew and crochet.  She has won Blue Ribbons at the County Fair for her sewing and canning.  Neva served her church by teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and she cooked at Falls Creek.  Neva's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was very important to her. Neva is survived by her husband of 71 years Curtis, two sons; Grady Greer and wife Pat of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Gary Greer and wife Mona of Crescent, Oklahoma, one daughter; Gloria McLemore and husband Scott of Mulhall, Oklahoma.  Grandchildren; Dennis Marshall and wife Susan, Brian Greer, Lisa Cox and husband Dustin, Katie Greer, Jordan McLemore, and Bethany McLemore.  Great-grandchildren; Jaxon Marshall, Kali Marshall, Lainey Marshall, Katelyn Cox, and Amber Cox.  Neva was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Darrell Clark, and Mervin Clark and her sister, Wanda (Clark) Morris. Services will be held Saturday September 19, 2015 in the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M.    Interment will follow in the Jennings Cemetery, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services.  Friends may share a memory with the family online at www.poteetfuneralhome.com.  The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 on Friday.
