Opha Jewel “Dee Dee” (Wilson) Smith celebrated 102 years of a very full life.  She was born January 2, 1917 in Pawnee County in the vicinity of Maramec, Oklahoma to Harvey and Martha (Jackson ) Wilson.
She started school at Quay, then Bethel and Pawnee graduating from Quay.  She married her loving and talented husband Olen Smith at the age of 17 in Oilton, Oklahoma in 1934  and they was married over 76 years before his passing in 2010.  She and Olen were baptized at the Hallett First Baptist Church on May 31, 1954.
Their only child Richard died at birth but they continued enjoying many nieces and nephews.
Dee Dee followed Olen while he served in the United States Army after which they bought a farm north of Hallett. They traveled many years with the Good Sam’s Camper Club traveling across most of the United States and Canada.
Dee Dee enjoyed homemaking, sewing, covering textile painting and working in the school cafeteria in Cleveland and Hallett.  She was a compassionate and caring neighbor until losing her eye sight many years ago then she also had a hard time hearing but still enjoyed those that came to visit her at the Southern Oaks Care Center where she passed on February 6, 2019.
Dee Dee is survived by several nieces and nephews and friends Services will be Saturday 2:00 P.M. February 16, 2019 in the First Baptist Church with Pastor John Coker and Senior Adult Minister Chan Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery Pawnee, Oklahoma.
