Rb Travis

RB Travis was born January 1, 1940 in Hammon, Oklahoma. He was the son of Carrol E. and Marjorie “Burch” Travis. RB had four siblings, two sisters Shirley Sparks, Kay Barnett, two brothers Richard and Jack Travis. RB was named after his grandfather RB Travis.
Family moved from Western Oklahoma to Arizona for a short time and then in 1952 the family moved to Hallett, Oklahoma. They went to Hallett schools then to Cleveland High School.
RB joined the United States Navy 1957 to 1960. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for 2 years he had his sea duty before Hawaii became a State. Then he finished up his service in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Then he met Ruby Emma and her daughter Sherie Lee Kelley. They has a son Terry Bee Travis on February 7, 1968.
He worked at Meadow Gold Diary in Tulsa, then he became a policeman in Hominy where we moved and Ruby worked at Musingwear. The family bought a home in Maramec, Oklahoma in 1971. Then RB had started working with his dad for Horne Construction building homes around the Cleveland area. When he did retired he worked for Charlie Dell, D&D Lease Service in Cleveland. He ended up working for Pawnee County District 1 mowing County Roads for 20 years where he retired in 2010.
They moved to Pawnee 1992 where they sold their home and moved back to Maramec in 2016.
RB loved watching football and western movies 24/7 and always loved working with wood, building quilt racks, shelves, rocking horses and so on and always kept his shop in order nothing was out of place.
RB and Ruby had celebrated their 50th Anniversary on October 22, 2016. Then RB lost the Love of his life January 30, 2017. After Ruby passed he was lost.
RB passed February 18, 2022 at the age of 82 years.
RB is Survived by his daughter Sherie Watkins and Floyd of Maramec, Oklahoma, grandsons Randy Watkins and Stephanie, Maramec, Ok, Rusty Watkins and Tabatha, Stillwater, OK, Dillon Travis and wife, Maramec, OK, great grandchildren Alex & Cameron Watkins, Conner, Londyn, Taityn, Anistyn & Kollisyn Watkins. Nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife Ruby, son Terry Bee Travis, his parents, and his siblings Shirley, Kay, Richard and Jack. Services will be held Graveside Saturday 2:00 P.M. in the Maramec Cemetery with Rev. Justin White officiating. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
