Reba Darleen Homeratha

Reba Darleen Homeratha was born on January 2, 1939, in Red Rock, OK, and left this earthly life on January 18, 2019, to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her earliest years were in Red Rock, but she later moved to Enid, OK, and graduated from Enid High School. In 1957-58, at the age of 18, she served as the Otoe tribal princess. She went on to earn a college degree in nursing. Reba was raised to have faith in Jesus Christ and made it her business to serve him all of her long life. Notably, she spent years helping manage the extensive book table at the Lake Hamilton Bible Camp in Hot Springs, AR. She was also a member of the Spiritual Warfare Team and a frequent attendee of deliverance meetings and conferences. Among the many places she served the Lord were the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City, MO, New Covenant Church in Plainview, TX, and for the last 8 years of her life New Wine Christian Fellowship in Pasadena, TX. Reba loved to worship God and to hear His Word, and she highly valued revival, the move of God’s Spirit, and His manifested Presence. Her parents were Curtis and Louella Black Homeratha, and she was raised for part of her childhood in the home of her grandparents, Dugan and Katie Black. Reba’s brothers were John and Philemon (Phil) Homeratha, and her sisters were Freida Homeratha and Lily Homeratha Rice. Reba never married and had no children of her own, but her pride and joy were her nieces and nephews, as well as their children. She is survived by nephew Troy Friday of Oklahoma City and nieces Shanna Friday of Topeka, KS, Chawee Ellis of Albuquerque, NM, Kathy Bueno of Oklahoma City, Rena Rice and Jenny Rice Rodman of Claremore, OK. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, all of her brothers and sisters, and her oldest nephew, James Friday. A memorial service to honor her life and faith and to bear Christian witness to the resurrection of the dead will be held at 10am on Saturday January 26 at New Wine Christian Fellowship, 1035 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX, officiated by Pastor Bo Fisher (713-899-7824). A graveside ceremony and interment will occur at 2pm on the same day at the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Cemetery near Red Rock, OK, on Highway 177, 16 miles south of Ponca City, 7 miles north of the Cimarron Turnpike (412). Questions can be directed to the Poteet Funeral Home in Pawnee, OK, (918-762-2557).
