Ruby was born May 29,  1943 in Maramec Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Kenneth Claude and Geneva Angelina (Pendegraft) Beaver.  Due to Geneva's poor health, Ruby was raised by Geneva's sister Thelma and eventually adopted by William and Thelma Lizar. Ruby was raised in Maramec growing up on the farm where she knew no strangers. She attended Maramec Elementary, Cleveland Junior High school, and graduated from Cleveland High school in 1960.

While in school in Maramec,  Ruby won the 4H baking contest.   She had the privilege of going to Kansas   city for the championship.  Traveling by train and bus with fellow classmates, she subsequently won the grand prize.

Ruby was united in marriage to James Kelley June 4, 1960 and was subsequently married to RB Travis October 22nd, 1966 and celebrated 50 years of marriage this past October. RB and Ruby established their home in her home town of Maramec and recently she was very happy to  move back to Maramec which allowed her to be closer to family.

Ruby dearly loved her family and looked forward to the time they spent together. Ruby and Sherie loved to go shopping together anytime they could. She was an excellent cook,  loved to sew, and was known for her custom aprons. Her love for cooking led her to express her creativity  decorating cakes.  She loved celebrating and decorating for the holidays.  Christmas was her favorite holiday and she enjoyed creating custom decorated Christmas trees. Ruby love to save stay busy and had a variety of jobs throughout the years from working at munsingwear, selling Avon, Tupperware, Home Interior, and most of all she loved being a manager and cake decorator at Consumers IGA in Stillwater.

Ruby passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior Monday January 30th, 2017 from complications from a lingering illness.

Survivors include her husband RB Travis; two children  Sherie Lee (Kelley) Watkins and her husband Floyd of Maramec, Oklahoma and Terry B Travis and his wife Jane also of Maramec Oklahoma; three siblings Betty Simmons and her husband Bob of Glenpool Oklahoma, Charles beaver and his wife Cynthia of Cushing Oklahoma, Patsy White and her husband Bob of Hallett Oklahoma;four grandsons, Randy Watkins and his wife Stephanie, Rusty and his wife Tabatha, Dillon Travis, and Travis Kelly, and Crystal and her husband Don of Montana; 8 grandkids Alex and Cameron Watkins of Maramec, Connor, Londyn, Taitym, and Anistyn Watkins of Stillwater, Brett Goforth Washington, Kaitlyn Goforth Montana; and a host of other, family, nieces and nephews and friends that will mourn her passing. Ruby was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Claude Beaver, William Lizar, Thelma Lizar, Lou Ella Pry,  Geraldine Cox  and grandparents.
