Wesa Taga Leroy

On February 8, 2017 at 7:40 p.m. our family received a true angel from God given the name Wés'a T'àg'a Jarvis Snake LeRoy. The name Wés'a T'àg'a originated from his 4th great grandfather Chief Big Snake from the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma. To our family and loved ones around baby Wés'a T'àg'a had such beautiful black hair, ten perfect fingers and toes, his voice being the most precious sound, and his cries brought joy to our hearts. Day in and day out our lives were truly blessed when he first opened his beautiful black baby eyes. Our baby Wés'a T'àg'a having a unique name later revealed a unique life to follow. Later he came home with his mama La Rena Cozad on February 10th and was never without love from his aunties and uncles. With many achievements in his young life, Wés'a T'àg'a was welcomed at Heaven’s Gates by his Papa and many other loved ones on November 2, 2017.
Although life was short but sweet Wés'a T'àg'a began his adventures at 3 days old, attending his two Aunts, Ericka and Addyson’s, basketball game in Cleveland. At a month old he learned how to hold his head up for a minute. At two months he had gone to his first day of daycare. At three months old, he learned how to roll, hold his bottle, and left the state for the first time to adventure to New Mexico for the Gathering of Nations. When he was four months, Wés'a T'àg'a learned how to scoot backwards. At five months; he went on the powwow trail, and learned that he had a shadow and feet. At six months, he learned to slowly crawl and attended Indian Falls Creek. At age of seven months; Wés'a T'àg'a learned how to fake cough for attention; learned how to take off his diaper and stand up with help. Once Wés'a T'àg'a turned eight months old; he learned how to stand by himself (laughing when he noticed he was doing it by himself), knew how to say no, and experienced his first Halloween as the character Winnie the Pooh.

Wés'a T'àg'a was an active member of Pawnee Indian Baptist church and attended Out of this World Daycare. He was an enrolled member of Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma; Kitkahaki and Chaui band. He is survived by his favorite toys George the Elephant, Squeezy Wheezy, Froggy Fresh, Big Blue and Larry the Lobster. He also has two “Frenemies” from his Grandpa Thad; an Emoji pillow and Moana doll. Survivors include his mom La Rena May Cozad, Grandparents Katherine and Thad Brady, great-grandma Linda LeRoy all of Pawnee. Grandpa Amon LeRoy of Pawnee, Grandparents Kristie and Lance Choate of Elgin, OK. Aunts: “Lil momma” Ericka and TsaLaGi Brady, Embree Sewell-Smith of Pawnee, Addyson and Sabrina Choate of Elgin, OK, Alexandria Chino of Stillwater, OK. Uncles: Xander and Baby Jarvis Brady, Rhys Brodie Sewell-Smith, Jay and Gabe Clark all of Pawnee. Great-grandmas: Phyllis Soxie, Starry Clark, DeLoyce Archie, Sandra Harjo, Nedra Mathews, and Nannie Sewell. Great-grandpas: Gilbert, William, and Philip “Ike" Mathews, Brodie Clark. Numerous other aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and friends. Baby is rejoicing in Heaven with his Great-grandpa Jarvis Snake LeRoy, great-grandma May Cozad, grandma Rosie Brady Crisp, Fernando Chino the doggy. And all his Pawnee, Ponca, Kiowa, and Iowa families.
