Betty Sue Lennon passed away February 18, 2016 at the Southern Oaks Care Center at the age of 74. Betty was born December 18, 1941 to R. Howard and Jessie Mae (Davis) Denney in Wichita, Kansas. Betty attended school in Wichita until her father was laid off at Boeing Aircraft Company and the family moved to Pawnee in 1950. Betty graduated Pawnee High School in 1960, upon graduation Betty took a job with American Airlines and moved to New York, later she moved to Florida to work for a N.A.S.A. Contractor there she met and married Richard Lennon. The couple moved to North Carolina and Betty took a job with D.H.S. the couple separated and divorced and Betty moved to Quantico, Virginia and then moving back to Pawnee 20 years ago. Betty didn't have children of her own but was a loving aunt and great aunt loving to spend time with all the nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Betty was very social and loved to spend time with friends and family, she loved to go out and eat dinner, loved watching birds and gardening. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Howard Denney Jr. and Harold Denney. Betty leaves to cherish her memories sister; JoBeth Spears and husband Bruce of Pawnee numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends Services are Saturday February 20, 2016 2:00 P.M. at the Blackburn Baptist Church in Blackburn, Internment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral  Home and Cremation Services. Friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
