December 10, 1934 – August 7, 2026Billie Paige Cole Van Winkle Yeager, 91, of Glencoe, Oklahoma, passed away on August 7, 2026. She was born on December 10, 1934, in Putnam, Oklahoma, to Bessie and Bill Cole. Although she was born in Putnam, Glencoe was home for most of her life, where she built a lifetime of memories with her family and friends.Billie lived a full and meaningful life filled with family, work, travel, and adventure. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.On April 26, 1954, Billie married James Lewis Van Winkle. During J.L.'s military service, Billie and J.L. spent several years living and traveling in Germany. Those years became a special chapter in Billie's life. She embraced the experience of living in another country and became very fluent in the German language. Her time in Germany reflected her adventurous spirit and her willingness to experience life beyond her Oklahoma home.J.L. preceded her in death.On October 10, 2002, Billie married Larry Yeager. Together, they shared many years and created many wonderful memories. Larry also preceded her in death.Billie worked for many years at Stillwater Medical Center. Her years of working were an important part of her life, and she took pride in the work she did and the people she met along the way.Later in life, Billie especially enjoyed traveling with the Good Sams Club. She loved seeing new places, visiting with people, and making memories along the way. One of her favorite things was simply sitting beside a lake or creek and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Those quiet moments near the water brought her great happiness.Family was an important part of Billie's life. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Lewis “J.L.” Van Winkle and Larry Yeager; daughter, Banetha Buchanan; son, Dean Van Winkle; grandchildren, Will Buchanan and Cole Buchanan; parents, Bessie and Bill Cole; and brothers, J.W. Cole and LeRoy Cole.She is survived by daughter, Brenda Van Winkle; son, Cal Van Winkle / Sharla; son-in-law, Calvin Buchanan; siblings, Den Cole / Peggy and Sue Hedges / Bob; sister-in-law, Loretta Cole; grandchildren, Jessie Buchanan, Amanda Poole / Jasper, Cara Crabtree / D.C., Rip Van Winkle / Chloe, Jay Van Winkle, Cody Cramer, Trey Linsenmeyer / Sarah, and Tallie Shultz / Colton; as well as multiple great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.Billie's 91 years were filled with stories, experiences, adventures, and memories. From her years in Germany with J.L., to her working years at Stillwater Medical Center, to her later travels with the Good Sams Club, she experienced many different chapters of life. She especially enjoyed the simple pleasures of being outdoors, sitting beside a lake or creek, visiting with others, and enjoying the beauty around her.Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
