Carol entered into rest Sunday, January 1st at Stillwater Medical Center. She passed peacefully with her family by her side. Fred and Pearl (Culver) Warden welcomed Carol into this world on July 14, 1939 in her grandmother’s home in rural Glencoe, OK.
In her early years they lived and farmed in rural Morrison. When they encountered a drought that dried up all of their ponds, her father sold the cattle to Cecil Norris and he went to work in the oil field. The oilfield took them to many places growing up. She lived and went to school in Morrison, Quay, Pawnee, Tonganoxie, KS, Independence, KS and eventually she graduated from Garber High School and came to Pawnee. When she moved to Pawnee with her parent’s she looked for work, but could not find any. She was going to Bartlesville to seek employment when Orvetta Wilkerson at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company offered her a position as a plug operator in Pawnee.
She married Vernon Beagle on September 11, 1960 at the Pawnee Baptist Church by Rev. Hitt.
She worked as a plug operator for 5 ½ years until her first child, Roger, was born in 1964. At that time, she went to be a stay a home mom. In 1966, her second child, Carol Ann, was born.
During her time at home raising her children she also taken on the full-time role of bookkeeping for her husband’s cattle hauling business.
In 1979 before the Sooner OG&E plant opened, Carol and friend, Betty Tucker, worked several months to set up their filing system.
When her children were in their teens Carol went to work at Jerry’s Studio in Pawnee. She packaged senior/school day pictures and worked in the gift shop until Jerry’s closed in the 90’s. Carol then taken employment with the Pawnee Nutrition Site where she was an outreach worker as well as the director until her retirement.
Carol was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan. If there was an activity you can bet she was there to cheer you on and support your cause. She missed nothing. She was looking forward to her great grandchildren’s activities.
Carol is survived by her children, Roger Beagle and Denise of Enid, OK; Carol Ann Heisler and Randy of Pawnee, OK; grandchildren, Ethan Heisler and Katy of Stillwater, OK; Jordan Beagle of Ft Worth, TX; Seth Heisler and Coco of Pawnee, OK; Aaron Beagle and Sawyer of Oklahoma City, OK; great grandchild, Scarlett Paige Heisler.
