Carolyn Sue Green

Carolyn Sue Green, who loved to be called “Momma” by her kids and “Auntie” by her nieces and nephews, departed her loving family suddenly on July 11, 2023. Carolyn was born in Durant, Ok on July 1, 1977 to Doris Stinson and Gene Grounds. Carolyn was mother to Angelique Edwards, Alexander Stinson, Maddie Franklin “Nataya Mircle Marie”, Darcie Green, Roxie Green, Alexius Green, Jazmine Green, and Leon Green II, and proud to be a mother to Robert Neely, Jimmy Neely, and Joretta Thomas. She raised her children with love and devotion in Glencoe, Ok with her husband Leon Green. She met Leon in 2003 and fell head over heels for that tall dark and handsome man and started their life together. A total of eleven children, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren later, Carolyn and Leon decided to finally tie the knot on December 14, 2018. Her greatest trait in life was being a wonderful mother to her children and many others. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Glencoe. She was faithful in her Christianity and always quick to say prayer or help those in need. She loved spending time with her family and friends down at the local rodeo arena cheering and encouraging a good time. Carolyn loved tending her garden, raising animals, and fishing. She was most proud of her children’s accomplishments in sports and academics.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her first husband Kevin Edwards, Grandmothers Ruth Turner and Irene Lee, Uncle John Brown, and Sister Georgette Stinson. Aside from her husband and children, she is also survived by her Mother: Doris Knight & husband Odel, Father: Gene Grounds & wife Jackie all of Bennington, Ok. Mother-in-Law: Oma Frances Edwards, of Maramec, Ok. Grandchildren: Michael Gilmore, Candace Gilmore from Lawton, Ok. Great grandchildren: Jermiah Gilmore, Kaliyah Gilmore, Jada Gilmore, and Creed Gilmore all from Lawton, OK. Brother: Raymond Grounds & wife Brandy of Bennington, Ok. Nieces: Tisha Stinson & husband Trevor, and Trittany McClour of Calera, Ok. Marissa Woodruff & husband Baylen, and Miranda Grounds of Bennington, Ok. Alexia Hiberd of Durant, Ok. Nephews: Brian McClour of Durant, Ok. Mason Grounds of Bennington, Ok. and Justin Hiberd of Durant, Ok and numerus great nieces, great nephews, cousins, bonus children, family, and friends.
