Deborah Ann Whiteshirt

Deborah Ann Whiteshirt, born on April 30th, 1962, in Graham, Tx, to Darlene Carson and Bill Hawkins, and was called home August 4, 2024. 

She was a member of the Pawnee Nation, Chaui Band, and a descendant of the Owl Clan of the Otoe Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma. 

On December 17, 1985, she married Thomas Whiteshirt in Tulsa, OK. They were blessed with 51 years together. 

She attended Riverside Indian School and graduated from Pawnee High School. She furthered her education at Northern Oklahoma College where she graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Debbie began her career in the medical field at Pawnee municipal hospital and went on to Stillwater Medical Center where she worked for an entirety of 30 years.

She had one brother, Joseph Hawkins, Pawnee , OK, and four sisters, Patricia Hawkins, Ripley, OK, Marie Hawkins, Arlington, TX, Charlotte Alexander, Irving, TX, Amy Hawkins, Wetumka, OK. 

Debbie and Thomas had 3 children, Amber Dee Whiteshirt, Andrew Whiteshirt, Thomas Whiteshirt Jr., all residents of Pawnee, OK. 

Debbie was blessed 6 grandchildren, Aven, Thomas (T3), Grayson, Micah, Michael, and Serjatay. 

She had the biggest heart, she loved taking care of her grand babies, cooking for everyone, going to concerts, gardening, listening to music, and helping anyone she could with anything. She had the best frybread in the world. 

She was preceded in death her mother Darlene Carson, father Bill Hawkins, Uncle Anson Jo Carson, Mother-In-Law Velma Smith, Nieces Rosalee Hawkins, Sarah Hawkins, Reality Alexander, and Nephew B.J. Hawkins. 

Pall Bearers are Ronald James, Steven Hawkins, Nolan Grant, Jordan Moore, Arthur Sonny Fields, Jewell Lyons, and Danan Baker.

Honorary Pall Bearers are Charlie George, Juaquin Hamilton, Curtis Hamilton, Joseph George, and Alex Smith.
