Edward "Mike" Michael Transue of Pawnee, OK, was born on October 17, 1943 in Kane, Pa. He was the son of Edward Madison and Madge Lucille Transue. He grew up in Kane, Pa and at the age of 17 went in the US Army. After returning from his tour, he came home to California, were he met his wife, Ruth Zelene Transue. They were married on October 23, 1965.Mike was the proud father of his three children. Jaime Michael Transue of El Paso, Tx, who married Marie Hinson, Angela Marie Leas of Pawnee, who married Sandy Leas, and Barbara Jeanne McCray of Pawnee, who married Randy McCray. Mike was even more proud when his grandchildren joined the ranks starting in 1988. He has 8 grandchildren, Michael Denver and Elizabeth Transue of Georgia, April Nicole and Kevin Scott Richardson of Cushing, Anthony Jamal Leas, William Edward Leas, Johnn Michael McCray, and Jacob Randall McCray, all of Pawnee. Then came along his great-grandchildren and he could not have been more proud. There are 5 – Adriann Rylee Transue, Averi Zelene Richardson, Jase Michael Richardson, Savannah Emmy Transue and Chase Landon Richardson.Although Mike was a simple man, he was private. He was a member of the US Army and served in Germany from 1960-1964. After returning home, he tried on different roles. From Paramedic to Ship Cook. After marrying his wife,Zelene, having children made him very proud. He became a truck driver and travelling the highways was a passion of his. Mike loved to go fishing. If you did not find a fishing rod in his hands on his day off, he was sitting in his chair reading a book! He was an ornery sort and loved to crack jokes. Humor was his way of lightening up the situation. He loved his wife dearly and was proud of his children. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Madge Transue and younger brother, Scott Alexis Transue.Mike is survived by his wife, Zelene, all his children, brother Curtis Lee of Nevada, brother John Robert of Oregon, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Services was held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church at 8th and Oak. Officiating will be Father Emmanuel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Poteet Funeral Home.The family wishes to express their appreciate for all of his Drs and nurses, Carter and ONHL Hospice Organizations, Drumright nursing home and Staff, St. John's Catholic Church and Pawnee Methodist Church Members and to all the family and friends that have supported us along the way.
