Fern Roy Eaglechief passed from this life on December 29, 2017, at her home in Pawnee, OK reaching the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 10 days.
She is survived by children Jean Rice, Rebecca Hawkins and husband Joseph Hawkins, Morgan Jr. and wife Priscilla Littlesun, Phammie Littlesun, Susan Littlesun, Patrick and wife Bambi Littlesun all of Pawnee and Ethel Simmons of Malibu, California. Fern is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren, and 16 great, great grandchildren plus numerous adopted relatives and friends.
Born in Pawnee, OK to James and Florence Arkeketa Roy, Fern and her four older brothers were raised by adopted parents Harrison and Ethel Barnes Whitehorn in Red Rock, Oklahoma and were taught Jiwele-Nutache ways.
Fern attended Navajo Community College in 1980, where she was studied Phlebotomy. In 1984, she attended Okmulgee Tech and was president of the Upholstery Club. In 1985, she received certification in furniture and auto upholstery. Fern loved to travel, ride horseback, ride rollercoasters with her grandchildren, and visit with her family and friends. She always had a smile and open-door policy in her home. Fern was a devout member of the Native American Church and raised her children with that belief system.
Fern is preceded in death by her biological parents James and Florence Roy, adopted parents Harrison and Ethel Whitehorn, four brothers James Jr., Morris, Emery, and Antoine(Buster) Roy, infant daughter Leah A. Plumley, infant son Mickey Littlesun, daughters Colleen Littlesun, and Carol D. Plumley-LeClair. Also, grandson Stacy Plumley Kent, granddaughter Rosalie Hawkins, great grandsons Darrell Webster III and Micah T. Lopez, and granddaughter April. M Wahquahboshkuk.
