Gerald "Jerry" Lee Quigley

Gerald (Jerry) L. Quigley of Waco, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the age of 68. Jerry is predeceased by his father, Thomas W. Quigley, mother, Fleeta D.Shaull, and stepfather Don W. Wingo and stepmother Pat Quigley. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Calvina K. Hettenbach, of 48 years. They were married in Pawnee Oklahoma on May 27, 1967.  Jerry is lovingly remembered by his son Nathan Quigley and wife Kim Quigley of San Antonio, TX.  Also, his daughter Krista Smith and Husband Chad Smith of Winnsboro, TX , and his grandchildren Bailey Quigley, Shannon Quigley, Caden Smith, Sawyer Smith and Kolsen Smith. He is also survived by his brother Tom Quigley and wife Mary Quigley of Maramec, OK and Sister Laura Keigley of Naperville, IL. Jerry was born in Ponca City, Ok on September 15, 1947.  He graduated from Quay High School in 1965 and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree at Oklahoma State University and Masters Degree from Boston University. He retired from ConocoPhillips after 28 yrs and was currently working for the U.S. Department of the Interior.  Jerry served 30 yrs as an Officer in the U.S. Army retiring as a Lt. Colonel. During his life he lived numerous places including Germany. His interests and hobbies included watching and playing all sports.  He enjoyed playing the guitar and always liked playing music at family gatherings. He and his wife attended Woodway Baptist Church in Waco, TX.The funeral service will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 11:00 am at Poteet Funeral Home with John Coker officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery and a reception following the service at Lone Chimney Town Hall.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project
