Jean Gordon

Jean Gordon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed peacefully at the age of 82 on December 24^th, 2023.

A native Oklahoman, born July 4^th 1941, she is the daughter of Arnold and Jeannie Wyss and the granddaughter of a homesteader family who worked the farm in Pawnee county in the early 1900’s. As a young girl, as fate would have it, her father’s military service took her out of Oklahoma to many places in the US and abroad where she, her mother, and sister learned about different people and cultures. She had many fascinating stories about her travels. But Pawnee Oklahoma always held a special place in her heart throughout her life.

While in her early twenties, married and raising a young family she began her career as a civil servant. A true American patriot, she gave selflessly in service to the US government for over 30 years. Politically active, she supported candidates and causes she believed in, and was active and generous with her church. Her selfless generosity to her family and numerous charities shows the true character of her heart, and she will be forever loved and remembered for it.  

Jean is survived by her sister and her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

A funeral service is scheduled for 2 PM on January 16^th, 2024 at Masham Cemetery near the intersection of E3900 and S34600. In lieu of flowers, please donate to:
