Joseph Darwin Horsechief was born December 25, 1973 to Lewis Horsechief Jr and Darwina Peters Blanchard. He entered in to his eternal life on December 20, 2023.
Joseph attended Elementary and High School in Pawnee, Shawnee and Tulsa schools to name a few, shortly afterwards he chose a career in welding and put himself through Tulsa Welding School in Tulsa, OK and after his completion of this school his career took him all over the United States while being a long time employee with Skinner Tank Company of Yale, OK. Joseph was presently employed with Borg Compressed Steel of Tulsa, OK.
He was a very proud member of the Pawnee Nation and If you knew Joseph, you knew that he had an infectious personality and was also a talented artist, loved sports, avid 'OU" fan, was adventurous, loved traveling, tattooing, loved his lemons and Red Diamond tea. He loved his family deeply and one thing that can't go unmentioned was his love for Taylor Swift!
On January 5, 2020 he gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son Darwin Roaming Warrior of Pawnee, OK. Mother Darwina Blanchard, of Tulsa, OK Father Lewis Horsechief Jr of Shawnee, OK. Sisters LaDonna Blanchard of Tulsa, OK; Laree Postoak of Oklahoma City, OK and Marilyn Postoak of Stillwater, OK. Brothers Clifford Blanchard of California; Norman Blanchard of Tulsa, OK; Ryan Blanchard of Okmulgee, OK and Jamie Postoak of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal Grandparents, Darwin "Don" and Rosanna Norman Peters, paternal Grandparents, Lewis Sr and Eleanor EchoHawk Horsechief and niece, Roselyn Sanchez.
He always spoke lovingly of all his grandparents and he will be missed by those that knew him and loved him.
