Julia Alene Honeyman

Julia Alene (Nelson) Honeyman went home to be with her lord Wednesday December 9, 2015 with her loving family by her side.Alene was born August 9, 1925 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Russell  and Golda (Bechtel) Nelson, she attended Whitehall Schools From the first grade till the eighth grade then graduating from Glencoe Schools in 1943. Alene married the love of her life Loyal Honeyman in Colorado Springs February 11, 1944 while Loyal was stationed there. After serving his country Loyal and Alene moved back to Glencoe and started a family, Alene started a career with Glencoe schools as the cafeteria manager, Alene took great pride in serving the best food you could get in any school cafeteria the cafeteria was known for great homemade bread and amazing cinnamon rolls. Alene retired in 1987 after Loyal passed away, she was a member of the Floral Valley Home Extension Club and the Glencoe Church of Christ. Alene loved to crochet , and cook, loved her family and grandchildren and the family get togethers. Alene's daily phone  conversations with June Parker and Maxine Childers will be sorely missed. Alene was a Big Oklahoma City Thunder fan and loved watching Oklahoma State University Basketball.Alene leaves to cherish her memories, her two daughters; Sharon Bly and husband Larry of Glencoe, Oklahoma, and Sandra Hejduk and husband Fred of Fishers, Indiana, Three grandchildren; Monta Reynolds of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Amber Hejduk of Oswego, Illinois, and Devon Hejduk and husband Dave Emerhard of Bradley, Illinois, four great grandchildren; Dalton Reynolds, and Macy Reynolds of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Cassidy Feaster of Oswego, Illinois, and Cooper Eberhand of Bradley, Illinois.Alene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Loyal.Services will be held Graveside 10:00 A. M.  Saturday December 12, 2015 at the Union Cemetery in Glencoe, Oklahoma, officiating will be Minister Curt Anderson. Friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
