Kelly Paul Lowrance Mo-no-ta, Black Haired Horse Paws the Ground. (Ponca Name) Was born August10, 1971, to Vernice Moncooyea and Robert Lowrance at Pampa General Hospital, Pampa, Texas. Passed into God’s Glory September 18, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma with family. A proud tribal member of the Otoe Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma and descendant of the Ponca Tribe, Gives water family. Kelly graduated from Pampa High School in 1990 and continued higher education in pursuing his barber license from Tulsa Barber Styling College, 1993. A true thespian alike his mother, Kelly traveled to Germany with a Native Storytelling troupe. This troupe would bring lasting friendships; a skill Kelly is notorious for. There he met Sonia Ott, a friend for life and the two would have two children. Kelly’s wit would pull the income needed for his adventures as a master barber. Kelly’s legacy lies in his cultural involvement. Skilled in traditional regalia including drum making, sewing, ribbon, leather, feathers and beadwork. An active member of the Shawnee Chapter Native American Church and Nuda Honga of the House of Warriors, Gives water Family. Kelly held the position beginning in 2016 and was an integral leader that proceeds his life. Prior and as Nuda Honga, Kelly made many friends in the society dances. Travel was a joy. Watching his sons in powwow competitions gave him lots of pride. A recent grandfather elevated that pride. The School of Papa Kelly was a testament to the hands-on grandfather he was. Kelly is preceded in death by his mother and best friend Vernice Mocooyea Willis and father, Robert Lowrance. His memory lives on through his sister Janella Lowrance Keen, his brother Truman Courtney Lowrance, his son Eaan Lowrance, his son and daughter, Rusty and Cherylyn Lowrance. His Grandchildren, Moxie Lowrance, Dax Lowrance, Silas Lowrance, and Jasper Lowrance
