Les Dallas, 67, of Pawnee, OK, passed away at Asension St John’s Medical Center on Thursday May, 22nd 2025 surrounded by his family and friends.
Les was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 24th, 1957 to Wilbur and Joella Dallas. Les met LuAnn Meyer, the love of his life in May of 2000 at Cleveland Hospital during physical rehabilitation. They then married on March 21, 2001. Les, LuAnn, and their daughter Elizabeth, then lived at their home east of Pawnee.
In 1960, Les and his family moved from Kansas City to Pawnee OK settling next to his grandparent’s homestead. He attended school in the Pawnee school system through his senior year of high school. Les played football all 4 years of high school. He was an active member of the FFA. He was president of the Pawnee chapter of the FFA his senior year. He raised the Grand Champion steer of the Pawnee County Fair in 1975.
After high school Les attended Northern Oklahoma College and earned an associate degree in Agricultural Business. Then in 1979 he attended Meridian Auto Mechanics. He then opened an Auto Body Shop and ran it while also working on the ranch.
Les and his brother Buster, helped their father run a farm equipment business while they were still in middle school. In 1989, after their father passed away, Leslie and Buster continued running the family business. After LuAnn and Les were married, LuAnn and Elizabeth helped run the equipment business.
In 1986 Les was involved in a train accident, that left him as a quadriplegic. The accident never dimmed Les’ spirit. He never stopped working nor ever lost his love for his savior Jesus Christ. He went on many mission trips even after the accident
A celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Pawnee on Tuesday May 27th at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held at Poteet Funeral Home on Monday May26th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
