Lettie Barber Skeen, a resident of  Yale and later near Cushing went to church with Jesus on Sunday, February 12,2017.  She loved to go to church and worship the Lord, so she was singing with the angels that morning.  She had been ill for a few weeks, amd passed away at the Stillwater, Hospital in Stillwater, Ok.  Lettie was born on April 15, 1930 to Albert Barber and Elizabeth Donaldson Barber  near Bainbridge, Georgia,  Lettie was the youngest of twelve children.  She moved to San Diego, California to live with oneOf her sisters in her sophomore year of high school, due to the death of her mother.  Her father had passedAway several years earlier.  She continued her graduation in California, graduating from high school, And later went on to college and obtained her LVN Nursing License.  Lettie worked in California many Years as a nurse in hospitals and later in life in several care homes. Lettie married Euclid White on July 4, 1948 in Yuma, Arizona, and to this union three children Debbie, Gail, and Randy were born.  She is Survived by all three children - Debbie and Pete of  Maryland - Gail and Dean of California - Randy and Chris of California.  She is also survivor by 8 grandchildren, Jason and wife Brandy of Arizona - Nicole and husband Dan of Maryland - Emerald, Deanna and husband Eric, and Tommy all of California - Ryan and Wife Rebecca - Katelyn and husband Jeff - Reed all of California. Lettie is also survivor by 6 great grandchildren - Taylor, Preston, J.T. and Bre all of Arizona. - Georgia and Charlie of Maryland. She is also survivor by 1 great great grandchild - Llheam of Arizona. Lettie is also survivor by one sister, Ireland Perry of Bellingham, Washington. In May of 2005, Lettie moved to Yale, Oklahoma, and married her widowed brother in law, Jim Skeen on May 28, 2005.  They continued to live in the Yale area, and later moved to Cushing near their daughter Judy and Fred Cook.  She is survivor  by Judy and Fred, 3 other grandchildren - Joe and Danielle of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma - Ginger of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma - John and Tam of Virginia, and 8 great grandchildren  - Jadon, Jaron, Sadie, Dason, and Conner, and Makenna - all of Broken Arrow - and Aiden and Blakely of Virginia.Lettie is also survivor by many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 sibblings, one son in law, Terry and one great granddaughter, Kelsie.Her funeral is being held Thursday, February 16th, at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m.For those not able to attend her service - cards may be sent to Jim Skeen 1618 W. Fairlawn Rd. Cushing, Ok. 74023.
