She was the daughter of Mark and G. Pauline Perez (Snodgrass) of Newkirk OK. Marce graduated from Newkirk High school in 1954, her love for music started at a young age. She played the saxophone in the high school band. After high school she worked at Albrights Abstract in Newkirk, then moved to San Diego CA where she worked at the Marine Corp Base as a secretary. On October 21, 1960 she married her lifelong husband Gene H Welch of Red Rock OK, they were married for 52 years.
