Michael Ray “Mike” Primeaux passed in Seminole, OK to his eternal home on the beautiful spring morning of June 16, 2023. He was born on July 6, 1949 in Pawnee, OK to Burgess Primeaux and Virginia Wabaunsee Primeaux. He was the grandson of the late Lamont and Rozanna Delodge Primeaux and William Wabaunsee and Rose Pipestem. In June of 1980 Mike married his wife Rose Ann Derruisseaux.
Mike was a proud member of the Ponca Tribe. He was also Osage and Prairie Band Potawatomi. For a number of years he danced in the Osage and Kaw Inlonschka dances until his health stopped him. After getting his associate in printing from Okmulgee Tech. He worked as a pressman for 27 years. He then went to work at Armstrong Flooring. He last job was his favorite, working as a custodian at Pawnee Elementary. He loved the children and they loved him. They couldn’t say Primeaux so they called him “Mr. Mike”. He loved to fish, tell fish stories, play basketball, and spoil children, his especially! He also enjoyed the mountains in New Mexico and Colorado.
He is survived by his sons Duncan Lamont, Anthony Chase Primeaux and Marc Lance Derruisseaux; his grandchildren, Lená Jacqueline Black, Orion Rae, Athena Marie, Atticus Grey, and Pierce Primeaux; Maryiah Rose, Jaida Marie, Nevaeh Ashley, Cienna Mae, and Aaliyah Jasmine Derruisseaux. He is also survived by his siblings Kathleen Leadingfox, Lora Taheri, Paul “Duncan” Primeaux, Gina Sheppard, and Angela Primeaux.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, beloved mother, brother Charlie, brother Micky, a sister and many other relatives. He will be put to rest in Grayhorse cemetery, close to his mother, brother and the dance arbor so he can always hear the June dances.
Indian services will be held Monday 9:30 A.M. with Taos Barone officiating in the Grayhorse Chapel, Fairfax, Oklahoma. Burial followed in the Grayhorse Cemetery, Fairfax, Oklahoma, services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
