Michael Ray "Wilkie" "Coach" Ray Wilkinson

Michael Ray “Wilkie” “Coach” Wilkinson passed away on January 30, 2025, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Mike was born February 16, 1949, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Clayton Hurst and Isabelle May (Price) Wilkinson. Mike was raised in Pawnee and graduated from Pawnee High School in 1967. He earned a basketball scholarship to play at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. He graduated from NEO and went on to graduate from the University Of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Education; he then went on to finish his Master’s Degree in Education from the University Of Central Oklahoma. Mike coached and taught computers and science at Pawnee High School, coaching Basketball and Golf, winning State Championships in both sports. Mike loved sports and loved and cherished his students. Mike was instrumental in building a golf course in Pawnee, where he could later be found playing golf. He played in tournaments all across the state, winning many tournaments, trophies, and special recognition. He helped start the golf programs at Pawnee High School. After his retirement, he worked at Lakeside Golf Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He then worked at the Pawnee Golf Course. Mike never met a stranger. He always had a story to tell and could remember the score and how many points people made.He was great at working on crossword puzzles to keep his mind sharp. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Clayton Charles Wilkinson, and Bill Wilkinson sister; Katherine Wilkinson Doll, and niece Dee Dee Doll. Mike is survived by his sister Linda Wilkinson Brim, and brother-in-law Norbert Doll, nephews; Jeffery Clayton Wilkinson and Richard Wilkinson, and James Doll. Nieces; Ricenda Brim, and Audra Parley, many cousins and numerous friends
