Molly Rae Hartwick Dietz Spears was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on September 16, 1927 to Edward and Donna Livesay Hartwick. She passed from this life on Friday, April 17, 2015 in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Pawnee High School in 1945. She then attended Oklahoma A & M, graduating in May of 1949 with a degree in Interior Design.
On October 21, 1949 she married Charles Dietz, also from Pawnee, after he returned from the Navy. Charles passed away in 1972. She later married Chester Spears. They were married several years until he passed away in 1981.
Molly worked for an interior design business in Overland Park, Kansas, where she became proficient in making custom draperies. Then after moving back to Pawnee in 1969 she started working for Pawnee County Department of Humans Services as a social worker. She later became County Administrator and then promoted to Field representative, where she travel to many counties teaching new policy. She loved teaching. After retiring from DHS she stayed active in CASA, and delivering food to people all over the county .
She loved to play bridge, sew, quilt, do needlework, travel with her sisters and friends, and watch her grandkid play sports. Molly was a great cook, famous for her pies. She made sure she passed the secret down to her granddaughters.
Molly was a long time member of the Pawnee First United Methodist Church. She served on many committees, taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She belonged to the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter H., for many years.
Molly was a loving, giving person all her life, always wanting to help others.
She is survived by her 3 children:
Daughter: Andrea Bowen and her husband, Charlie, Pawnee, OK
Son: David Dietz, and his wife, Rhonda, Jenks, OK
Son: Lewie Dietz and his wife, Kim, Pawnee, OK
9 Grandchildren: Molly Wilson & her husband, Scott, Tulsa, OK; Amy Stone & her husband, Jason, Tulsa, OK; Clay Bowen, McAlester, OK; Jill Rademeyer & her husband, Rick, Tulsa, OK; Amanda Dietz, Tulsa, OK; Jessica Dietz, Ft. Worth, TX; Jamie Whitaker, Webb, City, Ok; Cody Whitaker, Webb City, OK; & Kacey Cannon, Pawnee, OK.
9 Great-Grandchildren: Plus other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held, 10:00 A. M., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Susan Ross officiating. Interment will be at the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK. Under the directions of the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pawnee, OK.
