Onita Mae (Klinekole) Little Sun, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 4th, 2026. Born to Houston Klinekole and Lena Jefferson on May 16th, 1936, in Tonkawa, OK. After the death of her mother Lena, at age 2, Onita lived her childhood with her dad in Apache, OK, riding tractors and horses, and playing baseball. As a teenager, she attended high school at Chilocco Indian School, where she would later meet her late husband Bill Little Sun of Pawnee, OK. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, as Onita was soon introduced to Christianity, shaping a spiritual foundation that guided her throughout her life. They were married for 52 years and had 6 children, and they enjoyed spending their time serving God and ministering everywhere they went. Onita's life was a living testament to faith, family, and selfless service, and her legacy of love will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren, and the many souls she touched along the way.
Onita is survived by her daughter Sharon (Little Sun) Wheat & husband Randy of Bartlesville, OK.
