Orvetta J. Wilkerson

Orvetta Jean Wilkerson, 92, of Glencoe, Oklahoma passed from this life on April 30, 2023, in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Orvetta was born December 28, 1930, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Forrest and Maybelle Tyson. Orvetta grew up in Pawnee and Wichita, KS., graduating high school in Pawnee, Oklahoma with the class of 1950. Upon graduating high school. she went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator and married James Wilkerson. They established their home in Pawnee, Oklahoma where they welcomed the birth of their son, Robert Joseph on March 6, 1953.

Eventually, her job took the family to Ardmore, Oklahoma where they lived until retirement. Upon retiring from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, the family relocated to Glencoe, Oklahoma. Both her husband and son preceded her in death.

Survivors are her sister, Loretta Beavers of Glencoe, Oklahoma, brother Don Tyson of Saddlebrooke, Arizona, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Orvetta was a member of the First Christian Church, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
