“Duncan” Primeaux, was born January 29th, 1951 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Burgess and Virginia (Waubaunsee) Primeaux. Duncan was a direct descendant of Chief Big Elk and Standing Buffalo (Ponca Tribe). He was the grandson of the late Lamont and Rozanna Delodge Primeaux and William Waubaunsee and Rose Kirk Pipestem. From his Osage lineage he is the great grandson of the late Wilson and Edith Kirk (Gray Horse District).
Duncan was an enrolled member of The Ponca Tribe and was a descendent of the Osage and Prairie Band Pottawatomi Tribes.
In 1970 Duncan married Debbie Bass, and made their home in Boulder, Colorado where he attended CU. It was there that their only son Graham was born. Shortly after Duncan brought his family back home to Oklahoma. He was an electrician in Tulsa, Ok up until 1977. It was then he began his career with Pawnee Indian Health Service in Pawnee, Ok. Duncan continued this career for 30 years, retiring from Oklahoma City Area Office.
Duncan was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Fan, Boxing, and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. Duncan had a love for basketball and golf. Where he played in numerous Indian basketball tournaments, and Indian Golf Tournaments and made many friends along the way.
He loved music, but The Rolling Stones and The Blues were his favorites. Every once and awhile you could walk in and he’d be playing his harmonica. Along with his love for music he had knowledge of Native History, and where he and his family came from on both sides.
Duncan will be remembered for going above and beyond at work and putting others before himself. As well as at home where his door was always open to anyone. He was a loving and supportive son, husband, brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend. His kindness and generosity were recognized and remembered by all.
Duncan is survived by his wife Debbie, son Graham, grandchildren Graham Jr (Little Boy), Daylan Lashon, Landon Brandt, Trenton Rain, and Railee Marie. Great grandchildren Ember Sky, Killian Night, Rainyn Nuri, and Icelyn Joy. Siblings Angela Primeaux, Kathleen LeadingFox, Lora Taheri, Gina Shepherd. And many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Duncan is preceded in death by his father, beloved mother, brothers Mickey, Charlie, and Mike Primeaux and many other relatives. He will be put to rest at the Otoe Missouria Tribal Cemetery.
