Richard Tilden

Richard Tilden, February 13, 1943 to July 9, 2026, a proud member of the Skiri Band of the Pawnee Nation, departed this life July 9, 2026, at the age of 83. He grew up in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He served honorably in the US Marine Corps as a Tank Commander for three tours in Vietnam. Ater serving in the USMC, he married Sarah Morris and worked in Tulsa for Hilti Corporation for 18 years as a Tool Maker. After leaving Hilti with an on-the-job injury, he graduated from Haskell University. He then was a professional Counselor/Investigator for the Veterans Administration Office of Resolution and retired in 2008.

Richard served proudly on the Pawnee Business Council for four years. He also served as Vice President of NARFE LOCAL 278, Tulsa, Oklahoma and served on numerous boards, such as, Trail of Hope, Founder; TERO Pawnee Nation; Haskell Alumni Chapter; and many more

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Robert Tilden and Goldie Smith Tilden and his brother Ezra Tilden. Richard is survived by his spouse of 59 years, Sarah Tilden, and many nephews and nieces.

Richard loved OU football, NASCAR racing, and attending Pawnee Nation Events.
