Robert was born in Pawnee Oklahoma to Karel Childs and Horst Stuber of Germany. Dieter as he was known, was adopted and raised by John J. and Rachel Dailey Childs. He is the youngest brother of John, Barbra, Shirley, Don, Hank, Debbie, Mitchell and Charles Childs. He has one sister Andrea Felenda from Germany.

Dieter graduated from Red Rock before enlisting in the United States Army. Dieter proudly served in the military for over 20 years before being honorably discharged. Dieter was extremely proud of his services and always had a story to tell of his many adventures, if you had the time to listen.

Dieter spent many years living in Lawton, OK with his sister Debbie before moving home to Enid where he spent his final days. He loved being the Mr. Fix-it for all his family, many times studying YouTube videos before tackling the problem. Always finding a solution at no charge. Dieter loved leaving snacks for his nieces and nephews as well as taking care of all of the family pets. He always had bags of snacks ready to be delivered with a smile.

Dieter is survived by his sisters, Barbara and husband Jim Walton of Enid, Andrea Felenda of Germany. Brothers, Mitchell and wife Mary of Enid, Charles Childs of Red Rock. He is proceeded in death by his parents Karel Childs and Horst Stuber, John J. and Rachel Dailey Childs and siblings John Jr, Shirley, Don, Hank and Debbie.
