Scott Lyons

Scott “Scotty” Lyons was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on October 17th, 1960, to Horace Victor Lyons, Sr and Marcella Lucille Smith Lyons. He made his journey to the stars on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, having reached the age of 64. He was a proud member of the Pawnee Nation and of the Skidi and Kitkahaki bands.

Scott was born with severe heart issues and faced many hardships in life because of it. He never let it slow him down though and was active in school as a trainer for the Pawnee Black Bears and even received specialized training to assist when players were injured. Following high school, Scott worked at UPS as a driver, at the Pawnee Nation as a Recreation Coordinator, and made his life in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He was known for checking in on his elderly neighbors on Yellowhorse Drive.

Scott is survived by three sisters: Vicki and Lucian Larney of Seminole, OK, Andrea “Tweetie” Bowen of Pawnee, OK, Denise and Alvin Moore, Sr. of Red Rock, OK. He is also survived by three brothers: Horace Victor Lyons, Jr. of Glencoe, OK, Keith Hiram Lyons and Florissa Kanuho of Pawnee, OK, and Dana Jason Lyons and John Grantham of Arlington, TX. He also leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews who will miss his laughs and care.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents Horace and Marcella Lyons, his maternal grandmother, Manuella Goodchief EchoHawk, paternal grandparents, John and Mary Irving-Lyons, his brother John Robert Lyons, his sister Vera “Nene” Lyons-Thayer, and nephew Justin Springer.

Scotty was loved and will be missed greatly.
