Sherri Lynn Hess

Sherri Lynn Hess was born at St. Mary’s in Enid, Oklahoma to Everett & Loretta Moore Hess. Sherri left us on Friday, October 23, 2026 due to her fight with cancer.

Sherri graduated from Enid High School. She received her Bachelors degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After earning her degree, she went on to graduate from Aviation School which led her to her career as an air traffic controller. Sherri loved that job and took pride in her position ensuring pilots and countless citizens landed safely. Sherri was stationed in Washington D.C. during 9/11 and had an integral role in decision making and landing planes safely during that tragedy.

Sherri was proceeded in death by her loving mother Loretta, her hard-working father Everett and her bubbly brother Bruce. Also her Grandmothers Minnie & Blanche, her aunties Claudetta, Carmalita, Lorraine and uncles Elton, Randall, Johnny & Roland.

Sherri was a proud Otoe-Missouria Tribal Member and descendant of the Owl Clan. She enjoyed watching star trek, intellectual yet funny shows, reading, taking care of her beloved Tiger, going to casinos and spending time with her dear friend Tom. She spent her final days with those she loved and enjoying frybread and egg bread. She will be dearly missed and those who know her best, understand the brilliant mind and choices she made in this life. The world has been a better place with her in it and she will forever be loved.
