Victoria L. Collins Conklin passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was 82 years of age.
Victoria was born January 26, 1933 at the Pawnee Indian Hospital, Pawnee, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Pawnee-Ponca Tribes, she and her husband (Abe-deceased) resided in Guthrie, Oklahoma since 1981.
She graduated from the 9th grade at Pawnee Indian Boarding School and then graduated from Haskell College at Lawrence, Kansas from there she attended , on a scholarship for a year at St. Johns School of Nursing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Later in life she graduated from the Oklahoma City L.P.N. School of Nursing and was a licensed L.P.N.. She worked at the University Hospital & McBride Orthopedic Clinic in Oklahoma City, before retiring from the Oklahoma City Urban Indian Clinic in 1990.
She is survived by her sister, Florine Collins Hill & her husband, Ralph, her niece Vickie C. Esparza & her children, Jacklyn, Frank & Sam Esparza.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Baptiste & Hattie Collins, her brother Charles E. Collins, her grandparents, Stan & Ida Wichita Murray.
Services were held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Lynn Eaves officiating. Interment was at the South Indian Cemetery.
Arrangements by Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Pawnee, Oklahoma.
