Viola "Jerri" Jeralene (Wegner) Bruns

Viola Jeralene Wegner Bruns (“Jerri”), 93, passed away on May 18, 2026, at Stillwater Medical Center. Born on April 23, 1933, to George Emanuel Tobias Wegner and Beulah Sheets Wegner, she is preceded in death by the great love of her life, husband Clifford Melbourne Bruns, in 2016. Cliff and Jerri wed in Pawnee on February 22, 1952, after meeting at Pawnee High School and graduating there in 1950 and 1951, respectively. They lived their entire married life together on the Bruns family farm north of Pawnee. Jerri received care over the last year at Southern Oaks Care Center in Pawnee.

She was a bright student and involved in several school activities, as well as crowned Pawnee High School Football Queen during her time there. Jerri worked in the administrative offices of the local Munsingwear manufacturing facility for a number of years where she made and enjoyed many lasting friendships.

Jerri was known to many as one of the sweetest and kindest people they ever met, always welcoming visitors to the farm with coffee and her famous cookies. She raised and encouraged her children to treat others with kindness and always strive for their best.

Jerri was the oldest of her two sisters, both deceased. Jerri is survived by her three children: Vic Bruns/wife Jeanne of Pawnee, and daughters Cathy Bruns Render/ husband Michael of Skiatook and Molly Bruns Jordan of Owasso; and 11 grandchildren: Amy Render Oettle, Chelsea Render Burton , Leah Christine Render Swaim, Barry Bruns, Aaron Bruns, Jeremy Bruns, Casey Bruns, Adam Bruns, Tiffani Jordan Cooper, Chad Jordan, and Tara Jordan de Lara; as well as their families that blessed Jerri with 20 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, at 4pm at the First Baptist Church of Pawnee with internment following at Pawnee Highland Cemetery. The family knows Jerri has been received with open arms in Heaven and reunited with her great love.
