Wilbur Marlin Johnson

Wilbur Marlin (Philly) Johnson was born on March 13, 1942 to Mildred B. Howell and Wilbur Marlin (Flea) Johnson. Wilbur went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on January 31, 2019 at the age of 77 with his family by his side. Wilbur was a member of the Pawnee First Baptist Church where he taught Senior Adult Sunday School. Wilbur was baptized at the age of 12 at Camp Lela. Wilbur graduated from Pawnee High School in 1960. After graduation Wilbur enlisted in the National Guard. Upon discharge from the National Guard Wilbur attended a technical trade school in Chicago to become a aviation maintenance technician. While in Chicago he met Augustine Kaye Moncada and was later married. Of this marriage came 6 children. Wilbur worked at many small aviation and mechanical shops in the Tulsa area. Wilbur worked at American Airlines for over 30 years and would later retire from American Airlines. Wilbur loved to golf with his dad, , brothers, nephews and had several golfing buddies. Wilbur coached fast pitch softball and coached all of his 4 daughters. Wilbur would love to watch fast pitch softball every chance he would get. Wilbur also taught his sons to play baseball, football and wrestling. Wilbur expected the best and wanted his children and grandchildren to excel in everything they participate in. Wilbur loved to watch his grandchildren play sports every chance he could get. Wilbur studied God’s Word and loved to teach his Senior Adult Sunday School.

Wilbur is preceded in death by his dad, Wilbur Marlin (Flea) Johnson; his mother, Mildred B. Howell; his brother, Larry Gene; his brother, Lawrence Isaac; his sister, Dawn Marie; his sister, Laree Harriett; his granddaughter, Amelia Evelyn; and his niece, LaDonna Jean (Bugsy).

Wilbur is survived by his daughter, Pamela Harriett, of Tulsa; his daughter, Monica Kaye, of Broken Arrow; his daughter, Dolly Lorena, of Pawnee; his daughter, Mifaunwy Lynett (Mimi), of Tulsa; his son, Wilbur Marlin, of Bixby; his son, Lawrence Isaac, of Tulsa; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his Mini and Abby of the home.
